Minister for Commerce and Industry Wera Mori has clarified that the Yu Yet PNG Limited is a legitimate company.
The company has been at the centre of discussion inside and outside Parliament-including Facebook-in relation to Active City Program fund.
At a media conference in Parliament House last Friday in Port Moresby, Mr Wera said after going through the company’s files, he has confirmed that Yu Yet PNG Ltd paid for its own Certification of Foreign Enterprise.
Minister Mori explained that he had to do a media conference as he could not give a reply on floor of Parliament due to Member for Madang being absent for a week.
NCDC never paid for the certification as claimed by Member for Madang in Parliament, he stated.

He also clarified that his findings were independent and that he was not defending NCD governor Powes Parkop and the company owner.
He said it was one of the few companies which was complying to the IPA Act, Companies Act and other related laws of the country.
Minister Wera added that it was submitting its financial reports and paying tax to the government on time.
However, Kramer told Parliament during Question Time this month that National Capital District Commission did as opposed to official records.

Madang MP asked Minister Mori in Parliament: “If you can make enquiries in relation to that registration of this company, this company has violated significant amount of conditions in relation to its certification because it was trading and operating before it was issued a certificate.”
Chuave MP reponsed that he would get back to him after due considerations.
Speaking to reporters, Mr Wera denied this, saying all the company’s records are legally in order.
According to documents sighted, NCDC only paid them for their services.
Minister Wera urged fellow citizens to appreciate the meaningful contributions the company has impacted on the lives of many in the city.
Wera, a gout patient, said he liked the program, encouraging them to join the others in the weekly walk and yoga for life.
It is good for fitness, wellness and health, he said.
