STATE OF ORIGIN MADNESS RESURFACED AS A BRAWL AMONG SUPPORTERS LED TO A DEATH OF POLICEMAN WHO WAS INTERVENING

DEATH OF A POLICEMAN MARRED STATE OF ORIGIN GAME

Deaths and violence hit media headlines in Papua New Guinea following the origin games year in year out.

The games are played in Australia, the country's former coloniser.

Such ill-behaviors always fill the country's tag as rugby loving  yet a mad country.

The behavior did not change as seen in the country's second biggest town Lae last night when a policeman was stabbed to death whilst on duty.

The incident happened last night (between 8-9pm) near Obu in the Nabak LLG in the Nawaeb district of Morobe when his unit was intervening to a State of Origin game-related brawl among youths.

A suspect inflicted knife wounds on him multiple times.

The corpse of Finschafen origin is now at the Funeral Home in 14 Mile outside Lae.
